Daughters

During a visit to the White House, western fiction author and friend to Theodore Roosevelt, Owen Wister (The Virginian, 1902)commented to the President about TR's rambunctious daughter "Alice". Wister suggested that TR should exercise more control over Alice and her sometimes outlandish behaviors.

Roosevelt responded:

"I can do one of two things. I can be President of the United States,
or I can control Alice. I cannot possibly do both."

Given my experience, I can only suggest that TR was one smart father!

New Foal at Ranch

As you can see we have a new addition to the ranch. She was born over the weekend. Her mother is "Big Sky" and all are well.

Seward, Alaska

I seem to be spending a great deal of time in Alaska lately. I may have to just move up there one of these days.
